I’m Denis Shepelin. This is a small personal blog.

I have studied biology at Lomonosov State University. Then did a PhD in Computational Biotechnology at DTU Biosustain. During my studies I always used some kind of computer-adjacent technique - did some Molecular dynamics, built semantic graph databases, created machine learning models in oncology, applied methods of operations research to study microbial metabolism, later expanded to differential equations modeling and did some NLP work with protein language models.

My industrial experience is mostly in machine learning and AI. I was able to work in both R&D department AIRI and a few startups - LabTwin, which is no longer alive :(, and now Voyfai.
